Confronting the G8: events and actions

As promised, here is a collection of events and actions planned around the G8 summit in Fermanagh and the earlier hunger summit in London; make sure you come to the 8 June morning action to open the week; click on links for details!

8 June: Stop the G8 Fuelling Hunger 10am mass action outside the UK government’s hunger summit, London – and parallel actions in Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Stroud and Brighton

8 June: Tax and the Civilised Society lunchtime walking tour of the City of London, plus screening of Ken Loach’s ‘Spirit of 45’

8-15 June: Stop G8 week of action with themed days on debt, no borders, militarism and the Carnival against Capitalism on 11 June

10-15 June: full week at The Spark of films, teach-ins, evening events on tax, debt, arms trade, food sovereignty and all aspects of economic justice

13-16 June: Another World is Possible festival of alternatives to the G8, Belfast

15 June: the main public demonstration against the G8, called by the ICTU and other civil society groups; assemble 12 noon at Custom House Square, Belfast

17 June: March against the G8 – assemble 6.30pm, Enniskillen Library
