Cheers, John. I often use this example when I only have a short time to explain what rights-based approaches to development (including, but not limited to, overcoming poverty) mean to me. On another note, I very much look forward to reading your new book.
We once submitted a paper to DFID saying ‘give someone a fish…, teach someone to fish…., support them in creating a fish workers’ union, and they get weekends off and a pension when they retire, because fishing is hazardous, hard work on poverty pay.’
